New Driving Laws true or false?
I got an e-mail today and it tell me about this the new laws for driving. I live in California is it true or false?
Starting July 07..
1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted
on the highway is old). Don’t do it again because 2nd time is going to be
double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.
2. Incorrect lane change - $380. Don’t cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.
3. Block intersection - $485
4. Driving on the shoulder - $450
5. Cell phone use in the construction zone. - Double fine as of 07/01/07.
Cell phone use must be “hands free” while driving.
6. Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - both passengers and drivers get tickets .
7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit.
8. DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!)
9. As of 07/01/07 cell phone use must be “hands free” while driving.
Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department.

8. Has always been a trip to jail, and will be on your DMV and Criminal Record for the rest of your life. If you get a fourth DUI in ten years its called “Super Deuce” and you get mandatory prison time.
9. Is not going to be enforced until July 2008.
6. I won’t write that ticket, even if its a real infraction.
7. Speeders can drive ZERO MPH over the limit. Always been the law. I won’t stop until its 15 or more though, unless their being reckless too.
1. True. Not sure about the fine amounts but it keeps doubling to #4.
3. Has always been true and a real big fine. Its called Grid Locking, and #$%s up traffic for everyone. I will write a ticket for that one every time I see.
No idea about the rest.
5. Never heard it, but I don’t/won’t patrol the Interstates anyways. Thats for the CHPies.
Question #9, the police dept. doesn’t get money for issuing tickets. Fines usually get routed to the city or states general funds, which pay for roadwork, etc. PDs don’t get kickbacks, a common myth
For teens, the law is even more prohibitive. The new law makes it illegal for those under age 18 to use ANY cell phone device (including hands-free devices), text message devices and laptop computers while driving. What’s the punishment for violating this new law? A base fine of $20 for a first offense and $50 for each subsequent offense.

Dui In California
true, dui in california means mandatory jail time. for most movie stars, that can simply mean stepping into a jail cell and stepping out and getting off on good behavior. except if you are paris hilton.
